Day of iPhone 6, plus, and watch announcement.
and of course the release of Destiny for 4 major console platforms.
I was set on purchasing the PS4 Destiny edition, and it was pre-ordered from day 1 over at Amazon.
so how did i end up with Xbox one w/ Kinect?
1. I realized the destiny edition in the States was a generic bundle w/ white console and it was no where near pimp as this:
3. crazy scramble for MS to get gamers away from PS4 into Xbox One by pulling a free $60 game when purchasing a new system. in addition, until the 13th, bestbuy is throwing in the
Gamers Club ($120 value over 2 years) if you purchase it at the store.
3.5 judging by Bungie's horrible-not-at-all-limited limited editions of Halo, and being burned by it in the past, i didn't think much of it. until the news leak of the game being "actually be limited" had me kicking myself for not pre-ordering. add to that, the news of
Gamestop and Best Buy were canceling pre-orders for ghost editions of the game. casual browsing of the Amazon site and searching, (like 20 times a day), I found an allocation of the Xbox One version of the limited edition, so I just ordered it, thinking i'll ebay it or something :p
4. I was going for the cheaper $399 console with Madden bundle, but a. $150 for standalone Kinect is horrible pricing and b. Sherman in the console box just wasn't my thing, so i oped for the Kinect edition (will most likely be a horrible investment :p)
So. I am, for the time being, a proud owner of a less graphically powerful Xbox One, and will most likely buy one more title: NBA 2K15, (may be another one on top of that: Sunset Overdrive) before picking up the PS4 (waiting for the holiday price drop)
rounding out the twitter pic are the limited ed. Titanfall controller and book 2 of light novel: Sword Arts Online (which was later adopted into anime and game). SAO has jumped to the top 5 of my favorite anime of all time, (first 14 eps anyway) next to the likes of Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, Last Exile and Noir. Of course uber long series like One Piece, Naruto, Hunter x Hunter are in a class of their own, so that's that.
enough console talk, next up is the iPhone 6.
not blown away, but still curious. actually I really want the iPhone 6 Plus with 128 gb. which without contract will come out to $950 or $20 more than the 4G 128 gb mini retina.
I hate carrying around my iPhone 5S and the original iPad mini, so the idea of a powerful phablet with ample storage is VERY enticing. pricing, however is not. (Only because I have a stinkin year left on my 5S contract still... :/
thinking hard about getting my mom a 64 gb iP6 :D
